soozun @ 08:58 pm: granny square dog sweater pattern (lionbrand)
I just thought I'd share that lionbrand's Web site has a Granny Square Dog Sweater pattern. I thought it would be nice and warm for a pooch to wear, if you can get a sweater on your dog. Also, if anyone knows of any other free online granny square dog sweater patterns, please share a link.

justmybabyandme @ 11:46 am: new project
I have a new project that I am starting pretty soon, in addition to sewing curtains for my boyfriend's aunt... I want to put "granny stars" on the edge of a baby granny!!! I've never done this, so if anyone has any suggestions, please comment!!

I also have a new community, and I don't want to be rude in advertising, but I hope that it would benefit everyone here! welovecrochet is a new community, but I hope that it will grow! Thanks!

I actually finished this during the summer, but just got the pictures uploaded now. It's a big granny square, with a border of smaller granny squares.

I have some extra squares I'm going to turn into halters.

aehathor @ 02:28 pm: Coasters
I forget just how versatile granny squares are.

I needed some coasters quick, before some furniture got ruined. Instead of going with traditional coaster patterns, I just made some granny squares out of cotton, and they are perfect. They even match the decor.

I love grannies. You can make almost anything with them!

aellwynde @ 10:55 pm: Granny hat to share
I got the pattern online- a freebie. My daughter chose it because she was wanting an "artist" hat. I wasn't thrilled with the results, so I freehanded a second hat- not grannied. She loves them both tho, so I thought I'd share.

The granny hat is a neat idea, but I think it would be better with a thinner, smoother yarn maybe- Caron Simply Soft is what I'm thinking there. I also kept seeing it as a fruit basket for some reason... ;)
